Add a watermark to a PDF
Mark a document as a draft, confidential, or sample copy with a diagonal text watermark across every page. Set your own text and how visible it should be.
How it works
- 1Upload the PDF you want to watermark.
- 2Type the watermark text and adjust the opacity slider.
- 3Click "Process & download" to get the watermarked file.
Good to know
- A diagonal watermark is the hardest to crop out and stays readable across the whole page - a good choice for "DRAFT" or "CONFIDENTIAL" stamps.
- A watermark is visual only; it does not lock or restrict the file. To actually control who can open it, use the Protect PDF tool instead.
Frequently asked questions
This tool currently supports text watermarks only. Image/logo watermarking is on the roadmap - see the project README for how to extend it.
